what does afk stand for “Away From Keyboard”. So, people use this term in chats, games, and social networks when they need to go for some time and they want to inform others about this. Like, someone may say, “I will be AFK for 10 minutes, ” which means that the person is not available for a while. In fact, the meaning of AFK was derived from online games where players had to tell their teammates immediately that they were no longer active. Nowadays, AFK is used in almost all kinds of informal conversations, live streams, group chats, and even in work communication apps to indicate that the person is temporarily unavailable or not responding right away.
