Ok this thread may be old enough but today I started experiencing the same symptoms in my site. Perhaps this started some days ago but I didn’t post anything in the past days so I can’t say for sure when the problem began.
I wonder if is it there a user’s side solution or it has to be something with the server itself?
Any help is appreciated.

Please login to your Pinterest account and accept new interface changes. Sometimes old interface is the cause for such error.
After that or if you already have new interface try to retrieve your boards before posting.
Contact support directly if this doesn’t help you.

thanks but I’m not getting 502 errors but 403, and I already logged to pinterest and accepted the new interface few weeks ago..
WordPress.com is not blocking all sites just for using our plugin. We have thousands of people who are using it without any problems.
I am currently in talks with the WordPress.com folks as they are blocking all sites that seem to be using this plugin to post to a WP.com blog, I’m trying to get my IP address restored. It’s been a long week of emailing back and forth, my initial request on their forums https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/xml-rpc-not-working
I’ve updated the script and I’m having this error:
“CSRF verification failed – Please contact NextScripts Support | Pinterest Message:| | | Forbidden (403) | CSRF verification failed. Request aborted. ”

The latest version of Pinterest API is 2.8.0. It was released yesterday. It has all recent problems fixed.
I have the ssme problem since yesterday on pinterest, any update from developers?
Just as an update, I noticed that the new G+ API has a syntax error in it. I reverted back to the previous version, but that is off topic to this
